It’s very very tardy of me to only post “Lonely Night” now after so long… Lonely Night is definitely one of Boohwal best, and a song that they almost never miss performing (at least in the concerts I’ve been to). This song also has a special meaning for Boohwal itself, for it ensured (Boohwal)’s position again in the music industry. After being left by their third vocalist, Kim Tae-Won met Park Wan-Gyu (박완규) and wrote this song matching to his voice tone.
Lonely Night was released in Boohwal’s 5th album, 불의 발견 (The Discovery of Fire), in 1997.
Lonely Night
(Written and Composed by Kim Tae Won)
Now, the video below is a more recent version of “Lonely Night” shot in 2006. And, it’s an unplugged version, so you can really feel the difference. Another special point? Except for Kim Tae-Won himself, of course, all of the musicians here were current Boohwal members (different from the original version). Bassist Seo Jae-Hyuck, Drummer Chae Jemin, Vocalist Jeong Dong-Ha.
You can also check out Boohwal’s live performance from1997, where the members (except for Kim Tae-Won, of course) were all different from the current one. Bassist Jeon Joo-Gyo, Drummer Jeong Dong-Cheol, and Vocalist Park Wan-Gyu.
