Boohwal’s debut song – Heeya

I think it only serves the band right if I start my posting with their very first song. Heeya (a girl’s name) was a hit song in 1985 (btw,  I was born in 1985..). In the original Boohwal’s first album, this song was sung by Lee Seung-Chul. Below I provide a link of Lee Seung-Chul & Boohwal 2002 Concert. You can see the drummer Chae Jemin and bassist Seo Jae-Hyuck (both blond :p) sitting in line together with Lee Seung-Chul and gitarist/leader Kim Tae-Won in the beginning of the video.

This song was written and composed by Yang Hong-Seob (양홍섭).

Heeya, look at me
You (used to) like me (don’t you)
Even though you say you hate me, I know (what’s in) your heart
If you tell me you love me before you leave, I could be hurt
When I look back, the way you look when you said you hate me was really sad
In the midst of rain, you left without words. You looked so sad.
The way you look, your white face getting wet and cold
(it) sticks in my dreams every night, (it appears) I still miss you
Heeya, look at me. Oh, Heeya, please look at me!
Oh Heeya, Heeya, Oh Heeya, Oh Heeya
Oh my Heeya

The second video is Boohwal’s performance in Pentaport Rock Camp 2009, the incumbent vocalist Jeong Dong-Ha singing “OZ” and “heeya” in rock version. (He also sings “heeya” in the ballad version, but this is one exceptional performance which I like so much).

A little bit about the song “OZ”.. Released in the 12th album (part 1) in 2009. Composed by bassist Seo Jae-Hyuck and written by Se0 Jae-Hyuck and Jeong Dong-Ha. Check out the “12th Album” category for lyrics and translation~^^
